When you distribute hometowners through readMedia, you can also send the news to parents, students, or any other email address. This is great for notifying parents about their child's accomplishments or sending the students themselves a copy of their announcements. Check out this video to see how it works: Having trouble viewing this? Click here to view. Group Hometowners If you're sending a group hometowner, simply add additional columns for emails in your spreadsheet. To include multiple email addresses, you must add additional columns. E.g., if you want to send a notification to three email addresses, you would need to create three separate email columns. Individual Hometowners If you're sending an individual hometowner, you'll see an option to BCC email addresses on the "Review and Send" stage. At the bottom, under "Special handling instructions" you will have the ability to manually enter up to three email addresses. Your announcement will automatically be sent to the addresses in this field. Here's a screenshot: What do they receive? When the hometowner goes out for delivery, parents and students will receive an email with a link to the story on the readMedia Newswire. The email will also list the newspapers the hometowner was sent to. On the newswire, parents and students can easily click social media icons to share the hometowner to sites like Facebook, Twitter or MySpace. You'll find a sample spreadsheet with email addresses attached to this page. |
